CND impacts more than 470 students with a preventive day on vaping in San Cristóbal

San Cristóbal. – The National Drug Council (CND) developed a comprehensive educational operation at the Julio César de Jesús Asencio Educational Center, where more than 473 students participated in a discussion about the risks associated with the use of electronic cigarettes. The initiative was coordinated through the Department of Preventive and Integral Education (DEPREI), the Department of Community Prevention (DPC), and the Department of Prevention in Sports (DEPREDEPORTES), as part of the permanent actions promoted by the institution to strengthen the preventive culture in schools. During the session, held simultaneously in several classrooms, students received updated information and clear guidance on the consequences of vaping, including its effects on physical and mental health, as well as the impact on academic and athletic performance. Facilitators also promoted responsible decision-making and the development of skills to resist social pressure.

In parallel, DEPREDEPORTES organized a sports and recreational festival aimed at physical education students, highlighting the practice of sports as a key tool for preventing substance use and strengthening the overall well-being of young people. With these actions, the National Drug Council reaffirms its commitment to promote healthy lifestyles and continue providing preventive guidance to the country's educational communities, especially in vulnerable sectors, betting on education and sports as fundamental pillars for the development of a more conscious and healthy generation.
