Abinader breaks his own record for the longest speech

Santo Domingo. - President Luis Abinader offered this Friday his sixth accountability before the National Assembly, with an approximate duration of 2 hours and 44 minutes (2:44:00), which makes it the most extensive of his entire administration.

The speech of this 2026 had about 19,549 words, which, according to the average reading speed, translates to around 2 hours and 45 minutes of intervention, establishing itself as one of the most detailed and lengthy speeches in recent Dominican history.

  • 2021: 1 hour and 28 minutes; first Abinader's accountability report.
  • 2022: 1 hour and 54 minutes.

Before this year's speech, the absolute record for duration was held by the same president, with a speech of approximately 2 hours and 36 minutes. In his speech on February 27th, Abinader reviewed the government's achievements, presented goals for the next period, and sent strong messages about transparency and the fight against corruption, topics that occupied a large part of his extensive speech.
