Santo Domingo.- During his usual meeting with the press, La Semanal, President Luis Abinader reaffirmed the Government's commitment to citizen security and the recovery of spaces in sectors affected by violence, such as Capotillo.
“I hope to do a Weekly in La 42 de Capotillo in a while, but there's still a little time,” the president expressed, hinting that the advances in security will allow in the near future to take this communication initiative directly to that populous sector of the National District.You may be interested in: http://Abinader asegura que “no ha puesto ni una coma” en el proyecto de ley sobre libertad de expresión}
The Head of State was emphatic in pointing out that "here, no territory is controlled by crime," and that the priority of the new National Police patrol model is precisely to consolidate "peace and tranquility," as he said verbatim, in communities like Capotillo, where reinforced and sustained surveillance is already being implemented. This new security scheme includes the permanent presence of trained agents, patrolling by quadrants, body cameras, electric guns, and the integration of technologies such as QR codes to identify officers. The strategy seeks to bring the Police closer to the community, prevent crime, and regain citizen trust in public order institutions.
