Santo Domingo – Arajet celebrated the arrival of its 12th aircraft, a modern Boeing 737 MAX 8 that joins its fleet, in an event led by the president of the Civil Aviation Board (JAC), Héctor Porcella, and the CEO and founder of the airline, Víctor Pacheco Méndez.
On this occasion, Arajet pays tribute to La Caleta, in Boca Chica, Santo Domingo, by naming the new aircraft with this tourist and cultural symbol. La Caleta is recognized for its Underwater National Park, one of the main diving attractions in the Caribbean, as well as being a point of great ecological and historical value.
"It is a source of pride for Arajet to present our aircraft number 12 and dedicate it to La Caleta, a Dominican natural treasure that represents the best of our country. This tribute reflects our mission to connect the Dominican Republic with the world, while promoting sustainable tourism and the preservation of our cultural and natural riches," said Víctor Pacheco, CEO of Arajet.
Héctor Porcella, president of the JAC, highlighted the importance of this event for Dominican aviation: “The expansion of Arajet is a sign of confidence in the Dominican Republic as an air hub of the region and, at the same time, a commitment to the promotion of our tourist destinations, such as La Caleta, which are part of the national identity.”
The Dominican Government, through the Ministry of Tourism and other institutions, is developing a comprehensive rescue and modernization program for La Caleta, which includes the remodeling of the Underwater National Park and the construction of recreation and leisure spaces for the community. These initiatives seek to consolidate La Caleta as a reference destination for both international visitors and the enjoyment of the citizens of Boca Chica and Santo Domingo.
With this new addition, Arajet continues to establish itself as the airline driving the vision of the Dominican Republic as the logistical and air connection hub of the Caribbean, supported by a modern and efficient fleet that guarantees more routes, better connectivity, and affordable prices for all travelers.
