Esteban Pérez, also known as Samuel, falls, accused of homicide in Monte Plata

Monte Plata.– This Friday, Esteban Pérez, alias “Samuel”, was shot and killed. He was actively sought through an arrest warrant for his alleged involvement in the murder of Juan Carlos Jerez Amparo, which occurred on May 24 in the municipality of Sabana Grande de Boyá. Arrest warrant No. 2025-AJ0032318 was issued by the Permanent Attention jurisdiction of Monte Plata, after linking Pérez to multiple crimes, including homicide, illegal possession of firearms, and participation in micro-trafficking activities, in violation of articles 295, 296, 297 and 304 of the Dominican Penal Code, as well as articles 66 and 67 of Law 631-16 on arms control.

According to investigations, after committing the homicide, Samuel had a confrontation with an individual identified only as Heriberto, in a dispute over the control of points of sale of illicit substances in the municipality of Yamasá. This conflict intensified tensions in the area, known as Yamasaba, where Samuel supposedly exerted absolute control. The subdued person had been described as a highly dangerous and heavily armed individual, which is why the authorities had urged the population to avoid any attempt at confrontation and to cooperate through the confidential channels provided. The National Police maintains the cordon in the area, while search efforts continue to find the other individuals involved in the criminal network.
