A smuggling operation involving 912 bottles of whiskey was seized by military personnel in the Las Carreras sector, Elías Piña province, the Dominican Republic Army (ERD) reported this Sunday.
During an operation, those responsible for the smuggling noticed the military presence, abandoning three sacks, which contained a total of 38 packages of Gold brand whisky, with 24 units each, for a total of 912 units of the aforementioned alcoholic beverage.
The merchandise was transferred to the headquarters of the 11th Infantry Battalion of the ERD, in Elías Piña, where the corresponding legal procedures will be carried out, according to a statement from the military organization.
