Santo Domingo. – The Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) announced this Wednesday that, accepting the request of the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, has decided to suspend the celebration of the five years of government management, which was scheduled to take place this Friday, August 22.
The PRM's Executive Directorate explained that the decision responds to the call of the president, who emphasized that the country's current circumstances demand focus, responsibility, and action above any celebration.
"The true meaning of leadership is to carry the concerns of the people on our shoulders and transform them into hope. Today, the nation is asking us to remain focused on solutions," President Abinader expressed in a communication sent to the high party body.
In his message, the Head of State reiterated that the commitment to the Dominican people is above any partisan agenda: "The time for politics will come; today is the time for work. And for that work, the nation will know that we have not failed it," he affirmed.
The president called on all leaders and public servants of the PRM to prioritize the well-being of citizens and continue working with humility, dedication, and efficiency: "It is our responsibility to walk alongside our people, shoulder to shoulder, in the search for solutions," he added.
From the PRM, we appreciate the understanding and support of all our leadership and membership regarding this decision, and we reaffirm our commitment to remain united, working responsibly for the future of our country.
