Santo Domingo.– The opening of the new hotel Moon Palace Grand Punta Cana, scheduled for the end of this year, will generate more than 5,200 direct jobs, strengthening the impact of tourism on the national economy.

The announcement was made by "Gibrán Chapur", CEO of "The Palace Company", who explained that the project is in its final construction stage and will begin operations in approximately three months. To this end, steps have been taken with the "Ministry of Labor" with the aim of recruiting the necessary personnel. Chapur indicated that the first phase of the hotel will include one thousand new rooms, making this development one of the most significant in the region in terms of job creation. The businessman also pointed out that the Ministry of Labor, headed by Eddy Olivares, coordinates recruitment and training sessions for personnel in the provinces with the highest unemployment rates in the country. "The Palace group has its eyes set on the Dominican Republic due to the continuous growth experienced by local tourism. This country is already a regional benchmark in the industry," expressed Chapur. For his part, the Minister of Tourism, David Collado, valued the announcement as a clear sign of investors' confidence in the country's economic climate.

"The fact that a single hotel creates more than five thousand direct jobs is a clear sign of tourism's contribution to the economic growth of the Dominican Republic," Collado said.

The official recalled that tourism represents more than 15% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), in addition to boosting sectors such as agriculture, construction, and transportation. The project is part of the strengthening of the value chain of the national tourism sector, which has maintained sustained growth in recent years.
