The U.S. President, Donald Trump, announced this Monday that he will impose a 100% tariff on all films produced outside the territory of his country.
"Our movie business has been stolen from the U.S. by other countries, as if stealing candy from a baby", wrote the president on his Truth Social account.

"California, with its weak and incompetent governor, has been especially affected! Therefore, to solve this long-standing and incessant problem, I will impose a 100% tariff on all movies produced outside the United States," he reported.
"Thank you for your attention to this matter. Let's Make America Great Again!", concluded the American president in his publication.
- Trump's new tariffs are part of the White House's strategy to condition access to the US market for the relocation of factories to its territory. For the president, this type of pressure is necessary to "protect" American industry from foreign competition and increase domestic manufacturing.
- However, analysts warn that these policies, in addition to generating trade tensions with key partners, increase the cost of inputs for companies, put pressure on prices for consumers within the country, negatively impacting the labor market.
