Santo Domingo.- The Mexican singer Christian Nodal revealed that his love story with Ángela Aguilar began much earlier than many imagine and than the couple themselves have publicly stated. The artist, now 26 years old, confessed that since he met Ángela —then a minor— he recognized that, in addition to being very talented, she was also very beautiful.
In an interview with Mike Salazar for the program Zona de Desmadre, Nodal confessed that when he met Ángela he tried to hide how much he liked her, praising her talent instead of expressing his feelings directly.
The story behind the song they share, Dime cómo quieres, was a manifestation of those feelings, although they couldn't materialize at that time.
Currently, Ángela is 21 years old and he is 26, but when they met, Nodal was 18 and she was 13. “Now it sounds good, but before it sounded weird,” acknowledged the regional Mexican singer, who married Ángela in July 2024, amid the controversy over his recent separation from the Argentine singer Cazzu, with whom he has a daughter named Inti.

During the interview, Nodal also said that Pepe Aguilar invited him to work with the Aguilar family on the Jaripeo Sin Fronteras project. It was there that he met Ángela, who, despite being just a teenager, already made him very nervous.
“Talented, absolutely beautiful… she was gorgeous. She made me very nervous every time we were at press conferences,” he confessed.
Nodal revealed that, at that time, his now father-in-law did everything possible to prevent him and Ángela from crossing paths during the performances. “I'm going to expose you, father-in-law. I didn't know, but there was a rule that we couldn't be in the same place. The dressing rooms were on opposite sides and the whole thing, so that we wouldn't cross paths,” he said with a laugh.
According to what he recounted, he excessively flattered Ángela's talent as a way to hide how much he liked her. All of that is part of the context of Dime cómo quieres, a song that was composed in just 15 minutes and that came to light during the pandemic.
Currently, the song is one of the essential hits in Nodal's performances and is also usually performed by his wife Ángela. The couple doesn't miss an opportunity to sing together in public, sealing the moments with romantic kisses before the screams and applause of their followers.
