Santo Domingo.– This Thursday, May 8, 2025, El Nuevo Diario celebrates its 44th anniversary as one of the pillars of journalism in the Dominican Republic, reaffirming its commitment to freedom of expression, informational pluralism, and the truth.

Since its founding in 1981, in a context of profound social and economic challenges, the medium was born with the mission of being a voice open to diverse thought and a platform for the struggles, hopes, and demands of the Dominican people. This was made clear in its first editorial: “This newspaper is an act of faith in Dominicans, in their superior destiny, in the growth of a firm democratic conscience”.

For more than four decades, El Nuevo Diario has accompanied the country in the most transcendental moments, from electoral processes and political transformations to national crises and cultural milestones, establishing itself as a reliable source of information and analysis.

Today, with a multiplatform presence on television, radio, social networks, and its digital portal, the media continues to innovate without losing sight of its essence: to do journalism committed to the interests of the people and with professional ethics.
