Havana,- Several journalists and intellectuals close to the Cuban government described this Tuesday in Havana the United States Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, as “liar, spawn and arrogant”, while accusing him of having a “enfermed obsession” against Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua.
The criticisms against the former Republican senator, of Cuban descent, are included in the book 'Rubio. An Uncontrollable Mythomaniac', presented at the International Press Center of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs and attended by journalists, researchers, intellectuals, and diplomats from Venezuela, Bolivia, and Nicaragua, among others. You may be interested in: Puerto Rico remains undefeated by defeating Cuba
The author of the volume, the Cuban pro-government journalist and researcher Hedelberto López, stated that "this character (Rubio) is an abomination of American policy against Cuba."“What he has against Venezuela, Nicaragua, and Cuba is sick, so much so that he went as far as to say that Cuban medical missions abroad were enslaving,” said the author of titles such as 'Miami, Dirty Money'.
Meanwhile, former Cuban spy René González, noted that Rubio is "an arrogant person, carrying a hatred towards the Cuban people, an opportunist and a hypocrite." The book is about Rubio's Cuban origins and his performance in American politics, through investigations, interviews, and press publications that the author gathered during several trips to the United States. Since assuming the position of Secretary of State this year, under the second term of Republican Donald Trump, Rubio has maintained criticisms against governments such as those of Havana, Caracas, and Managua. He accused them on one occasion of being "enemies of humanity."
