Panama announces the "resumption of air operations" with Venezuela

Panama City.- The Civil Aviation Authority of Panama reported this Thursday the "resumption of air operations" between the Central American country and Venezuela, suspended since July 2024.

"The Civil Aviation Authority of Panama (AAC) confirms the restart of air operations between Panama and Venezuela. This will allow Panamanian and Venezuelan airlines to resume flights between both countries," highlights a statement from the Panamanian aeronautical entity without specifying any date.

This same Thursday, the Panamanian president, José Raúl Mulino, said that his country "benefits from opening commercial flights with Venezuela" after reporting that he has received "a letter" from the Venezuelan authorities in which they propose to resume them.

Last July 29, Nicolás Maduro announced the temporary suspension of commercial flights to and from Panama, after Mulino suspended diplomatic relations with Venezuela due to the post-election crisis in that country.
