Bogotá.- Unknown individuals kidnapped Sara Sofía González Fajardo, 18, in the department of Valle del Cauca. She is the secretary of the community action board of the town of San Antonio, located in the municipality of Jamundí, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights in Colombia reported this Friday.
"We urge the immediate, safe, and sound release of Sara Sofía González Fajardo, an 18-year-old, secretary of the San Antonio Community Action Board in Jamundí," stated the UN Office for Human Rights on the social network X.
The organization called on armed groups to "respect the life, dignity, and rights of all people, including those who are members of Community Action Boards."
"We urge the State to activate urgent search mechanisms and to take effective measures to protect the population, in accordance with its international human rights obligations," the information added.

In southwestern Colombia, several factions of the FARC dissidents are particularly strong, although the National Liberation Army (ELN) guerrilla and drug trafficking gangs that control coca crops and routes for international drug trafficking also operate.
