In his first full week in the Majors, Bernabel showed explosive offensive production, batting for an average of .462 (12 hits in 26 at-bats), including 7 extra-base hits, 2 home runs, 1 triple and 4 doubles. He also drove in 7 runs and scored 5 times, contributing decisively to his team. His performance allowed him to lead the entire league in extra-base hits, total bases (24), and slugging percentage (.923), as well as ranking among the top five in OPS (1.385), batting average, hits, and doubles. Bernabel, just 22 years old, debuted last July 26 in the Major Leagues and, since then, has connected at least one hit in each of his first seven games, achieving multiple hits in four of them. In that period, he batted .500 in 28 at-bats, with 4 doubles, 3 home runs, 1 triple, 8 RBIs, 29 total bases and an OPS of 1.553. With this distinction, Bernabel becomes the first Rockies rookie to be named Player of the Week since Nolan Jones in October 2023, and the first overall since Brenton Doyle in July 2024. Additionally, he joined Mitchell Page (1977) as the only players in the modern era with at least 14 hits and 8 extra-base hits in their first seven games in the Major Leagues. Signed by the Rockies as a prospect in 2018, Bernabel steadily climbed through the minor league system. This season, with Triple-A Albuquerque, he batted .301/.356/.450 with 8 home runs and 45 RBIs in 75 games, prompting his call-up to the big league team at the end of July. With his brilliant start, Warming Bernabel has not only earned weekly recognition, but has also made the entire baseball world closely observe what promises to be a stellar career.
