A survey conducted by MLB.com among 43 experts yielded the latest results, which not only reflect the production to date, but also the expectations for the final stretch of the season. The voting system awards five points for each first-place vote, and so on down to one point for fifth place.AMERICAN LEAGUE: JUDGE MAINTAINS REIGN, RALEIGH PRESSURES
- Aaron Judge, Yankees – 35 first-place votes
The Yankees slugger continues to dazzle with a historic season: he leads MLB in OPS (1.175) and maintains an average above .350, in addition to reaching 30 home runs before July. His name has been etched in the MVP conversation since the first month of the campaign, and he reinforces his case every day. - Cal Raleigh, Mariners – 8 first-place votes
The surprising MLB home run leader (33) has consolidated his candidacy with consistent power. Raleigh joins names like Bonds and McGwire in surpassing the 30-homer mark before July, and the question is no longer whether he can maintain the pace, but whether he can reach 50... or even 60 home runs. - José Ramírez, Guardians
The Dominican remains a model of consistency with a solid offensive line and his now-accustomed combination of power and speed (13 HR, 21 SB). However, the dominance of Judge and Raleigh complicates his path to the award that has repeatedly eluded him. - Bobby Witt Jr., Royals
Although his numbers have slightly decreased compared to 2024, Witt remains an elite offensive and defensive pillar in Kansas City. At just 25 years old, his ceiling remains as high as his current impact. - Tarik Skubal, Tigers
With an ERA of 2.15 and a FIP of 1.98, Skubal is having a campaign even better than the one that led him to the Cy Young last year. His presence in the Top 5 of the MVP demonstrates the magnitude of his dominance from the mound.
NATIONAL LEAGUE: OHTANI REMAINS OHTANI, BUT “PCA” EMERGES
- Shohei Ohtani, Dodgers – 39 first-place votes
The Japanese phenomenon continues to make history: he leads the league in home runs (29), slugging percentage (.633), OPS (1.021), and runs scored (82). In addition, he has returned to the mound with an ERA of 2.25 and a pitch of 101.7 mph. He is on his way to his fourth MVP — something only Barry Bonds has surpassed. - Pete Crow-Armstrong, Cubs – 3 first-place votes
The great revelation of 2025. With 21 home runs, 25 stolen bases, and Gold Glove defense in center field, “PCA” has electrified the Cubs and has earned his place among the most valuable of the year. - Kyle Tucker, Cubs
Chicago's star reinforcement has responded handsomely, and his recent offensive explosion catapulted him into the Top 3. His consistency and power have made him indispensable in the fight for the top of the National League Central. - Juan Soto, Mets – 1 first-place vote
After a slow start, Soto has recovered his MVP level with a dream June (.322 AVG, 11 HR, .722 SLG). If the Mets manage to bounce back, his candidacy could gain strength. - James Wood, Nationals
The imposing Nationals outfielder bursts onto the scene as a future established star. With 22 HR, .938 OPS, and outstanding defense, Wood is emerging as a name we will hear for years in these polls.
Others with votes: Fernando Tatis Jr., Elly De La Cruz, Paul Skenes, Freddie Freeman, Francisco Lindor, among others.
