With this move, the capital team strengthens its offense by re-integrating one of the most emblematic players in the history of the tournament. Suero, who was part of the champion team in 2016, returns to wear the red uniform after being part of La Manada in the 2015 and 2016 seasons.

Winner of the Rookie of the Year award and the only player with three Most Valuable Player (MVP) awards in the history of the LNB, Gerardo Suero also holds three scoring titles and maintains the best points-per-game average in a regular season with 27.5 in 2017. Known as “the two safest points in the Dominican Republic”, Suero will bring scoring ability to a team seeking its fifth crown and now under the direction of Eulis Báez.

Gerardo has been part of the Dominican Republic's national basketball team project on several occasions.

To finalize the arrival of the star guard, Leones de Santo Domingo traded center Jean Carlos Quezada and a first-round pick in the 2026 LNB draft. The organization publicly thanked Quezada for his contributions and wished him success in his new professional stage.

The native of Villa Juana will defend the colors of Leones in the Mauricio Báez, his club and the one that has led to success in district basketball in the last decade. This return represents not only a sporting bet, but a symbol of identity and connection with his community.

Suero comes from playing in professional basketball in Venezuela with Brillantes del Zulia, a team in which he recorded an average of 18.4 points per game in the qualifying phase of the 2024-2025 season.
