Santo Domingo. — The General Directorate of Migration (DGM) and the security and order agencies of the State detained 827 foreigners in an irregular migratory situation in different parts of the country on Tuesday, December 16. In addition, complying with Law 285-04, 559 people were deported to Haiti.
The DGM, continuing its immigration control actions, made arrests in Gran Santo Domingo (135), East Zone (50), La Vega (2), Santiago de los Caballeros (66), Mao/Santiago Rodríguez (65), Azua (21), Dajabón (119), Elías Piña (34), San Juan de la Maguana (22), Independencia Pedernales (58) and Puerto Plata (6).
Units of the Dominican Republic Army (ERD) detained 170 undocumented foreigners, the Specialized Corps of Land Border Security (CESFRONT) detained 15, and the National Police (PN) detained 64, who were handed over to the DGM.

The 827 deported foreigners were transferred to the border points of Dajabón (321) and Elías Piña (171), where they were handed over to the authorities of the neighboring country. DGM reiterated that the operations are carried out in a sustained manner throughout the national territory, adhering to the guidelines that guide the migratory order, State security and respect for human rights.
