Puerto Plata. - The community of Barrero, in the municipality of Imbert, expressed this Tuesday its disbelief and resistance to accept as definitive the accusations that link people from the close environment with the rape and death of the girl Brianna, a fact that has generated consternation, pain and division among the residents of the town.

During tours and conversations with community members, several expressed surprise at the findings that emerged during the investigative process, especially those involving a man identified by the surnames Reyes Rosario Núñez, the minor's uncle, whom they describe as a person close to the church and known for his active participation in religious activities. "It's hard for us to believe, because we've always seen him collaborating in the church," expressed some neighbors, who say that the accusations have caused confusion and a deep emotional impact in the community, due to the seriousness of the act and the existing social ties.

However, residents agreed that, beyond personal perceptions or community relations, they expect the authorities to conduct a thorough, objective, and transparent investigation to fully clarify the circumstances surrounding the minor's death. They also called for the case not to go unpunished and for action to be taken in accordance with the law, underlining that the search for truth and justice must prevail over any social, family or religious ties, in a crime that has deeply marked Barrero and shocked the entire country.
