São Paulo.- The Supreme Court authorized this Friday the temporary release of former Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro, sentenced to 27 years in prison, to undergo bilateral inguinal hernia surgery, after receiving the medical report from the Federal Police.
However, in the same resolution, the minister denied the request for house arrest filed by the defense, due to a "total absence of the legal requirements for the granting" of house arrest because of "a repeated failure to comply with the precautionary measures" that had been imposed on him and the presence of "concrete acts" that suggest the possibility of an escape by the former president.
