Santo Domingo.- The Frente Amplio condemned the brutal attack carried out by the United States government against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, calling this action a serious violation of international law, the sovereignty and self-determination of peoples and the fundamental principles of peaceful coexistence between nations.
The Broad Front warned that this type of unilateral aggression puts regional stability at risk, threatens peace in Latin America and directly affects the lives of civilian populations, in addition to constituting a dangerous precedent for the sovereignty of the countries of the continent.
"No State has the right to forcibly impose its political, economic or military agenda on another nation. This attack represents an open breach of the United Nations Charter and the multilateral mechanisms for peaceful conflict resolution," said María Teresa Cabrera, President of the Frente Amplio.
Likewise, they called on the international community, democratic governments, social movements, and multilateral organizations to raise their voices in solidarity with the Venezuelan people and to demand the immediate cessation of all military or interventionist action against Venezuela.

The Broad Front reiterated that peace, dialogue, diplomacy, and respect for the self-determination of peoples must be the only legitimate way to resolve any disagreement between States, and rejected any attempt to justify aggression under humanitarian or security pretexts.“Defending Venezuela today is defending the right of all peoples to live free from threats, interventions and external pressures,” Cabrera concluded.
