The Canadian government indicated in a statement that Canada's Foreign Minister, Anita Anand, and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, addressed the situation in Haiti during a phone call.
During their conversation, both discussed "the urgent need for the United Nations Security Council to adopt a resolution authorizing a reinforced security mission in Haiti, supported by a UN Support Office to address gang violence and restore security".
Anand and Rubio also "addressed the situation in the Middle East, including the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the need to marginalize Hamas to build a future in peace".
