Concern in Las Terrenas over circulation of heavy trucks on prohibited road

Samaná.- A video circulating on social media shows two heavy trucks crossing head-on on the Las Terrenas–Sánchez highway, a maneuver that put the lives of drivers and motorcyclists traveling through the area in imminent danger.

The situation has generated alarm because there is an express prohibition on the circulation of heavy vehicles on this road, established to prevent accidents on a high-flow road with reduced characteristics.

Despite this prohibition, the Guacamayo Mine operates in the vicinity of Los Naranjitos, which has significantly increased the transit of large trucks. This constant flow violates the established regulations and the signage placed on the road, generating recurrent risks for the population.

The recent incident, which nearly caused an accident, has reignited the concern of residents and those who use this road daily, who fear that the lack of control could lead to a greater tragedy.

Local and community media announced that they will continuously monitor this situation and urgently call on traffic authorities and competent organizations to enforce current regulations and adopt immediate measures to ensure road safety.
