Neyba, Bahoruco. – A 14-year-old student lost her life on Friday afternoon after being involved in a traffic accident that occurred in the Cerro al Medio sector, in the municipality of Neyba.
The victim was identified as Yomailys Penelophe Feliz Sosa, who was returning to her residence after leaving the Fe y Alegría Polytechnic on board the TRAE student transportation program.
According to preliminary reports, the teenager was hit by a public transport bus on the Neyba–Barahona route while attempting to cross the road after getting off the school bus.
The minor was rushed to the San Bartolomé Hospital, where she died due to severe head trauma, according to the official medical report.
