Santo Domingo. – The senator for Hato Mayor province, Cristóbal Castillo, was the one who presented the most initiatives during the last legislative year (from August 16, 2024 to July 26, 2025), a total of 105.
Secondly, Senator for San Juan province, Félix Bautista, came in second with 69, while the representative of La Altagracia, Rafael Barón Duluc, appears third on the list, with a total of 61.
The list is completed by Santiago Zorrilla, from El Seibo, with 53 initiatives, María Mercedes, from Hermanas Mirabal, 42, Eduard Espiritusanto, from La Romana, 41; Daniel Rivera, Santiago, 40 initiatives; Alexis Vitoria Yeb, from María Trinidad Sánchez, 33, and Franklin Romero, from Duarte province, 30.
Of the initiatives submitted by Castillo, 49 were resolutions and 56 were bills.
From the total, 23 were approved and 54 remain in force.
Among the approved projects is the Organic Law that Institutes the Penal Code of the Dominican Republic, a Bill that Modifies Article 113 of the Organic Law of the National Police (590-16), a Bill for the Promotion, Development and Competitiveness of Crafts, a Bill that Declares the Province of Hato Mayor as a Tourist Pole, a Bill that Defines the Territorial Location of the Salto de la Jalda National Park, a Resolution that Requests Special Education for Gifted and Talented Children, among others.

While, among the resolutions are, Resolution Recognizing Lic. Vicente Sánchez Baret for his Public and Democratic Career, Resolution Requesting Reconstruction of the Baseball Stadium in Sabana de la Mar, Resolution Requesting a Daytime Care Space for Older Adults in Sabana de la Mar, Resolution Requesting Completion of the House of Culture in Hato Mayor, Resolution Requesting Construction of a Fire Station in the North Zone of Hato Mayor del Rey, among others.
