Washington.- Democratic senators warned on Tuesday that the Administration of US President Donald Trump does not rule out sending troops on Iranian soil, after a confidential briefing with high-level officials.
"I am more afraid than ever," said Connecticut Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal, confirming that the Trump Administration would let them know that they do not rule out sending ground troops to Iran. Blumenthal, during a press conference, added that the Government would consider sending troops if necessary to fulfill the objective of destroying military targets in Tehran. The senator concluded that all information on U.S. military operations in the Middle East should be shared with Congress and not handled confidentially. The Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, the highest-ranking official cited this Tuesday in the Senate, said that a "change in the scope and intensity of these attacks" will soon begin to be perceived as the "dismantling of Iran's nuclear capability" progresses.
