Santo Domingo.– Agents of the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD), in coordination with the Public Ministry of the Dominican Republic and with the support of intelligence agencies, seized 700 packages of a substance presumed to be cocaine during an operation carried out at the Caucedo Multimodal Port.
The operation was carried out as part of the inspection and control work carried out by the authorities at the port terminal. During the verification process of several containers that were in transit to Europe, the agents detected inconsistencies in one of them, which led to a more exhaustive review. Upon opening the container, operational teams located hundreds of packages of a white powder, wrapped in adhesive tape and hidden within the cargo. Following the discovery, the packages were removed from the site and placed under the custody of the authorities to continue with the corresponding process. The seized substance will be sent to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF), where analyses will be carried out to confirm the type of drug and determine the exact weight of the shipment. We recommend reading: DNCD arrests two Serbians and seizes a shipment of 75 packages presumably cocaine
