Santo Domingo Norte.- As part of the response actions to the rains caused by tropical storm Melissa, the mayor of Santo Domingo Norte, Betty Gerónimo and the Minister of Environment, Paíno Henríquez, led an extensive day of intervention and cleaning in the El Somito ravine, located in the Guaricano sector, which crosses the Ecológica professor Juan Bosch avenue, where the Mirador Norte Park is located.
From the city council, they seek to mitigate the effects of the floods recorded in the last few hours and reduce the risks of flooding, after the ravine dragged a large amount of solid waste towards the Isabela River.
Minister Henriquez explained that this intervention is part of a comprehensive sanitation plan for canals in Santo Domingo Norte and other municipalities of Greater Santo Domingo.
