Santo Domingo.– Colombian singer-songwriter Fonseca expressed his emotion and gratitude after receiving a special Soberano Award and performing on the Premios Soberano stage, highlighting the influence that Dominican music has had on his career.
"I feel very excited. For me it's a huge privilege, a dream come true, because Dominican music has always accompanied me," the artist said when approached by the press.
Fonseca especially highlighted the influence of the maestro Juan Luis Guerra on his career, whom he defined as one of his main inspirations.
"The music of maestro Juan Luis Guerra has been my great influence and for me, having sung with him a couple of years ago was a dream come true," he stated.
The interpreter also valued the space that his music has achieved in the Dominican Republic, ensuring that this recognition represents a significant moment in his career.
"Seeing that my music has a space here in the Dominican Republic is really very exciting," he indicated.
During his intervention, the artist also praised the musical richness of the country, pointing out that the Dominican scene is one of the most active and diverse in the region.
"The musical richness of the Dominican Republic is impressive, the amount of artists, releases, and projects that are constantly here... that they have given me this recognition and invited me to sing at such important awards, is a huge luxury," she said.
Fonseca also announced that he is preparing an international tour that will cover several Latin American countries between 2026 and 2027, which will begin on October 24 in Bogotá, at the El Campín stadium.
"From there our tour starts and obviously we will be here in Santo Domingo," he assured.
The artist concluded by reiterating his gratitude to the Dominican public, highlighting that he is leaving the country with "more gratitude and more affection for this land", after his participation in one of the most important entertainment events in the Dominican Republic.
