The Sectoral Vice President of Defense and Sovereignty, General-in-Chief Vladimir Padrino López, expressed this Sunday the absolute rejection of the National Armed Force Bolivariana (FANB) to what he described as a “cowardly kidnapping” of President Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores de Maduro.
The Minister of Defense pointed out that this event occurs within the framework of a "large-scale" military operation by the United States against Venezuela.
From the high command, he called on the international community to "observe everything that is happening against our sovereignty and our Constitution."

Likewise, Padrino López expressed his gratitude for the "prompt response of almost all governments and peoples of the world". He highlighted the rejection expressed by legitimate governments and popular mobilizations to what he called a "crude intervention". Call for stability and constitutional order The high official urged the Venezuelan people to maintain peace and order, exhorting them to "not fall into psychological warfare and the fear they want to impose on us." He underscored the importance of the population resuming its economic activities normally. "The homeland must proceed on its constitutional track," he affirmed. He reiterated FANB's commitment to the defense of the Magna Carta and the institutions of the Republic. The Bolivarian National Armed Forces reiterates, through its highest representative, its loyalty to the constitutional order and its role as guarantor of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the nation.
