After becoming the most-watched non-English language film in Netflix history, the universe of Trol awakens again with more force than ever. Today, TROL 2 premieres worldwide on the platform, a production that elevates Norse mythology, action, and visual spectacle to a new level.

Directed again by Roar Uthaug (Tomb Raider, The Wave), the sequel reunites the same creative team that brought the original success to life, with screenwriter Espen Aukan and producers Espen Horn and Kristian Strand Sinkerud at the helm. The main cast reprises their roles with Ine Marie Wilmann (Nora), Kim Falck (Andreas) and Mads Sjøgård Pettersen (Captain Kris).

A New and Devastating Awakening

In this second installment, a new and fearsome troll emerges from the depths of Norway, sowing destruction in its wake and putting the entire country at risk. Faced with the growing threat, Nora, Andreas, and Captain Kris are forced to begin their riskiest mission to date. Their search will lead them to discover unexpected allies and delve into the oldest secrets of Nordic folklore and Viking history, where they might find the keys to stop the catastrophe. With time against them and devastation spreading out of control, the heroes must face impossible challenges to save their land from an ancient darkness.

A more ambitious sequel in every way

Director Roar Uthaug has highlighted the expanded scale of this new production:

"We've taken the story to a higher level. We expand the scope, delve deeper into the myth, and offer a spectacle that honors the greatness of Nordic folklore. On this occasion, we introduce new, even more destructive trolls, and explore the Viking heritage of Norway in greater depth," he stated.
