Punta Bergantín Trust signs agreement with INTEC for economic impact study in Villa Montellano

The Punta Bergantín project signs an agreement with the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo, INTEC, to formalize the hiring of the study on the economic impact that the municipality of Villa Montellano will receive, with the development of the tourism and real estate proposal.

The event, led by the acting rector of INTEC, Alliet Ortega Rabassa, and the executive director of the Punta Bergantín project, Andrés Marranzini Grullón, also included authorities and representatives from these institutions, where the service contract for this research was announced, the result of a bidding process in which INTEC participated and was awarded.

In their interventions, they expressed satisfaction with the realization of the agreement and the relevance of the study, both in the community based on the benefits generated by this investment, and in the implementation of new tools to contribute to the scientific research of tourism. They highlighted that these proposals were introduced by Julio Sánchez Mariñez, deceased rector of INTEC.

The acting rector of INTEC, Alliet Ortega, stated that, "the study will be carried out by researchers and specialists in the tourism sector, as well as professors from the Economics and Business Area of the university, providing reliable data, rigorous analysis and objective recommendations that will help to understand the economic and social implications of the investments, these being key to maximizing the benefits of tourism development."

While the executive director of the Punta Bergantín Project, Andrés Marranzini Grullón, highlighted the importance of this study as a tool for making decisions that guarantee sustainable growth in the Punta Bergantín environment, indicating that, “the agreement signed promotes the purpose conceived with the community, where we have been consistent in affirming the direct impact on the local economy that these investments promote, starting from an efficient approach to them, as well, it allows programming the creation of new projects or expansions, employment opportunities, among others.

Punta Bergantín, is a tourism proposal aimed at strengthening the hotel and real estate offer in the north of the Dominican Republic, which integrates from important business and recreation actions, to the development of the surrounding community, as part of the socioeconomic growth agenda that manages support for both national and foreign investment.
