Santo Domingo. – The National Palace welcomed Christmas with its traditional tree lighting ceremony, a celebration filled with emotion, hope, and festive spirit, which brought together dozens of children and collaborators from the Government House along with their families.
The ceremony, an initiative of First Lady Raquel Arbaje, began with the blessing of the event, led by Father Fray Kelvis Acevedo, chaplain of the San Rafael Arcángel Chapel of the National Palace.
The First Lady of the Republic, Raquel Arbaje, accompanied by Vice President Raquel Peña, shared a message focused on the importance of family unity and the hope that this time inspires. Both led the most anticipated moment of the event: the lighting of the tree and the lights of the gardens that marked the official start of the Christmas season at the Government headquarters.

The atmosphere filled with music with the performance of the Dominican National Children's Choir and the Koribe choral group, who delighted those present with Christmas carols and emblematic Christmas pieces. The children enjoyed a space specially prepared for family enjoyment with face painting, sweets and the emblematic characters of Christmas.
The event concluded in an atmosphere of closeness and harmony, highlighting the Government's commitment to promote spaces that strengthen the family and renew hope in this special time.
