An attempt to sabotage a busy railway line was thwarted in the Russian region of Altai, in Siberia, the Federal Security Service (FSB) reported this Monday.
"In the territory of the Altai region, an attempt to sabotage the railway, planned by members of a terrorist organization banned in Russia and coordinated by the special services of Ukraine, has been thwarted," reads the statement from the agency.
It is detailed that two residents of the region, recruited by representatives of the terrorist organization via Telegram, planned to place on November 22 a special device that allows forcibly derailing the wheels of a train on the Altayskaya-Bisk railway route. The FSB reported that the section in question has "a high intensity of freight and passenger train traffic".
