Santo Domingo. – The National University for Defense “General Juan Pablo Duarte y Díez” (UNADE) awarded a recognition plaque to the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology (MESCyT), doctor Franklin García Fermín, in merit of his strategic management and his significant contributions to the strengthening of the higher education system of the Dominican Republic.
The distinction highlights the minister's sustained efforts to position the country at the highest standards of quality, innovation, and academic accreditation, positively impacting all of Dominican society.
Following the recognition, the higher education institution highlights the uninterrupted approval of national and international scholarships, the funding of scientific research, the consolidation of cooperation between higher education institutions, and respect for the curricular projects and developments of UNADE.

The plaque was presented to the head of MESCyT within the framework of his participation as guest of honor at the twenty-first ordinary graduation of UNADE, an event in which the academy conferred degrees to 2,632 new professionals in various areas of knowledge. In the administration of García Fermín, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology reinforces a transparent, inclusive scholarship model based on academic merit, significantly expanding access to higher education opportunities for thousands of young people throughout the country. The work demonstrates that democratization and access to higher education, ensuring that talented and vocationally-inclined students, regardless of their socioeconomic status, can continue their academic training, with special attention to young people from vulnerable communities.
