Santo Domingo.- Dominican author Tiffany Padilla presents her first novel "Una Chica Sola en New York", a work based on real events that honestly portrays the emotional impact of migration, anxiety, and the process of personal reconstruction far from the country of origin. With only 20 years old, Tiffany Padilla emigrated alone to New York with the hope of starting a new stage of life. However, what she found was an imposing city, silences that weighed more than the noise and a silent struggle with her mental health. “I didn't dream of living in New York, but one day, life brought me here”, writes Tiffany Padilla in the first pages of the book, beginning a deep, sensitive, and unadorned narrative. The author not only addresses the challenge of adapting to a new reality, but also the emotional journey of a young woman facing social anxiety, eating disorders, and a mind that never stops. In the midst of it all, Tiffany Padilla found in her faith in God a guide to stay strong and not collapse.

Escribí este libro para quienes se sienten demasiado sensibles para este mundo. Para los que cargan luchas invisibles, y aún así siguen de pie”, afirma Tiffany Padilla.

What initially was an intimate diary transformed, five years later, into a novel that seeks to accompany others in their own processes of healing and self-knowledge. Throughout the work, Tiffany Padilla also highlights the importance of human connections: small gestures of kindness, words that arrive at precise moments, encounters that illuminate dark days. For the author, healing also means allowing others to walk by our side, and her story becomes an open letter to those who have felt fear, loneliness, or the weight of starting over in unknown lands. Raised in a home of deep faith and spiritual sensitivity, Tiffany Padilla found refuge in writing from an early age. Today, she emerges as a rising voice in contemporary Dominican narrative, combining personal experiences with emotionally powerful prose. A Girl Alone in New York is not just a story of migration; it is an invitation from Tiffany Padilla to reconnect with oneself, to grow from pain, and to find beauty even in the midst of darkness. Tiffany Padilla's book will be available starting September 9, 2025, in physical and digital format through Amazon and on her official website. Pre-sales will open in the weeks leading up to the launch.
