Two men were arrested for gender-based and domestic violence in Jarabacoa and La Vega

The National Police arrested two men in separate incidents that occurred in the municipalities of Jarabacoa and Barranca, La Vega province, for alleged cases of gender-based and domestic violence, reaffirming its intervention in the face of this type of crime.

In the municipality of Jarabacoa, Confesor Hernández Peña, alias “Confe”, was arrested. He had an arrest warrant No. 0597-2025-SAUJ-00486 against him for alleged violation of article 309-2 of the Dominican Penal Code, modified by Law 24-97, which typifies and sanctions domestic violence, to the detriment of Yonorys Mecedes Durán Hernández.

While in the municipal district of Barranca, the named José Luis Rojas López, 33 years of age, was arrested in the act of committing a crime, after being pointed out by his partner as the person who allegedly physically assaulted her and threatened her with death, an intervention carried out after an alert received through the National Emergency System 9-1-1.
