Two young women reported missing in Valle del Cauca found dead

Colombia. – Two young women who had been reported missing were found dead in a remote area of this municipality, after being missing for several days. The victims were identified as María Camila Salazar Cano and Anyi Paola Giraldo Castaño, who disappeared on February 3 after leaving their homes. According to reports, their mobile phones stopped emitting a signal and the motorcycle they were traveling on was found abandoned in a pasture, which alerted their families. After search efforts, the authorities located the bodies buried in graves in a green area located between districts 6 and 7 of Cartago. According to preliminary information, there was an approximate distance of 100 meters between both bodies, an element that is now part of the investigation. The remains were transferred to Forensic Medicine for the forensic examinations that will allow to accurately determine the causes of death. The case has generated deep consternation in the community, while family and friends demand justice.

In the same department of Valle del Cauca, the discovery of a human head was also reported in another sector, a fact that is being investigated by the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI) of the Attorney General's Office. Authorities continue investigations to clarify what happened and find those responsible.
