U.S. increases to 36,000 citizens evacuated from the Middle East

Washington.- The United States evacuates more than 36,000 of its citizens who were in different Middle Eastern countries before the start of Operation Epic Fury launched on Iran 10 days ago. The Under Secretary of State for Global Public Affairs, Dylan Johnson, said that the number of evacuated nationals reached 36,000 this Monday, on his official X account. The State Department added that resources available to connect people in different territories of the region to execute their return to the North American country are being increased.

For his part, State Department spokesman Tommy Pigott told the local press that although commercial flights have begun to increase, charter flights and ground transportation operations continue to operate. During the first week of the conflict, the administration of President Donald Trump received strong criticism for the management of the evacuation of its nationals and for having issued alerts in its consulates three days after the attacks began.
