A preliminary report on the collapse of the Jet Set will be delivered this week, according to a special commission

The preliminary report detailing the causes of the collapse of the nightclub Jet Set will be sent to the Attorney General's Office (PGR) in the coming days, according to the special commission investigating the case.

Leonardo Reyes Madera, director of the National Office of Seismic Evaluation and Infrastructure and Building Vulnerability (Onesvie) and coordinator of the research team, indicated that the document has already been completed and is in the final review process before being officially delivered. “The report is ready and will be sent to the Attorney General's Office this week. We are concluding the preliminary part of the file,” said Reyes Madera in statements to Listín Diario.

The official also referred to information circulating on social media about alleged causes of the collapse, clarifying that these reports have no connection to the findings of the official commission. "We don't know where that came from. It has nothing to do with us," he said.

The research team is made up of national and international specialists, including forensic engineer Fierro, from the University of California; Máximo Corominas, pathology engineer from the Eduardo Torroja Institute of Spain; Marcos Paniagua, with training at the Catholic University of Chile; and Remi Luciano, an expert in earthquake-resistant engineering.

The tragic event occurred on the morning of April 8, 2025, when the roof of the renowned Jet Set nightclub in Santo Domingo collapsed during a party hosted by merengue singer Rubby Pérez. The incident left 236 people dead and more than 180 injured, several of them in serious condition.

Following the collapse, both the National District Attorney's Office and the Attorney General's Office opened investigations, while mechanisms were activated to receive complaints from victims and relatives of those affected.
