Body of Brazilian woman who fell down a ravine rescued in Indonesia

Jakarta.- Indonesian rescuers evacuated this Wednesday the lifeless body of the 27-year-old Brazilian tourist who fell on Saturday down a ravine of the Rinjani volcano, on the island of Lombok, which generated an intense search that was interrupted by the difficulties of the terrain and bad weather. In a statement, Rinjani National Park, located 1,200 kilometers from Jakarta, explained that after an intensive operation, the evacuation of Juliana Marins was "successfully and carefully completed", whose motionless body was detected on Monday by a drone, 500 meters from the point where she fell. The victim's body was taken to the Sembalun tourist complex around 9:00 PM local time (1:00 PM GMT), and then transferred to the Police hospital in the province of West Nusa Tenggara, about 380 kilometers from touristy Bali.

I was trying to reach the summit of Mount Rinjani

The Brazilian government confirmed on Tuesday that Marins had been found dead, four days after falling off a cliff while trying to reach the summit of Mount Rinjani, 3,726 meters high. The Brazilian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that its embassy in Jakarta mobilized local authorities at the highest level to undertake rescue operations. The Indonesian authorities, who provisionally closed this hiking route, had arranged four helicopters to expedite the removal of the Brazilian woman. The Rinjani is an active volcano and the second highest in Indonesia, attracting numerous international tourists every year. It hasn't erupted since 2016.
