Death of Miguel Uribe: those processed will face homicide charges and possible terrorism

Bogotá. – The death of the presidential pre-candidate and senator of the Republic, Miguel Uribe Turbay, has generated immediate repercussions in the judicial field. The six defendants and the intellectual authors of the attack must now answer for aggravated homicide, instead of attempted aggravated homicide. The family's lawyer, Víctor Mosquera, requested that the crime of terrorism also be charged, as it was an attack against a politician in office and a member of the opposition. “What infinite sadness, Colombia is in mourning. With the passing of Miguel Uribe, a light of intelligence, discipline, kindness, honesty, integrity, sincerity, faith and strength is extinguished. May God receive in his holy glory one of his favorite children”, expressed the criminal lawyer. Among those captured are Elder José Arteaga, alias el Costeño, coordinator of the attack; Katerine Martínez, alias Gabriela, who handed the Glock 9 mm pistol to the 15-year-old hitman; William González Cruz, alias el Viejo or el Hermano; Carlos Eduardo Mora, driver of the vehicle in which the weapon was delivered; Christian González Ardila, in charge of the motorcycle to evacuate the minor; and the teenager who shot Uribe Turbay. Judicial sources do not rule out that, given the high penalties they face, some of those involved will reveal who gave the order for the murder.
