A Russian woman is arrested for stealing 223 chocolate bars and eating them

A 40-year-old woman has been arrested in Khabarovsk (Russian Far East) for stealing and eating 223 chocolate bars from a store, the Russian Interior Ministry reported today. According to the official statement, the woman's actions caused damage of 30,000 rubles ($350) to the premises. The detainee confessed that she had committed the robbery for her own consumption. Currently, the woman faces a prison sentence of up to two years. A few days ago, two Russian teenagers aged 15 and 16 were reprimanded in the Siberian town of Prokopyevsk for stealing 77 ice creams from a street vendor.

The young women, who were taking a nighttime stroll through a park, opened a refrigerator covered by a protective cover and took 77 ice creams that they devoured without a second thought, the Police specified. After the identification of the offenders, their data was registered with the Police and their parents will have to answer to the Justice for "failure to fulfill their educational obligations".
