Police arrest woman nicknamed "La Bola" accused of homicide in the Capotillo sector

Santo Domingo. - The National Police reported the arrest of Ana Mercedes Ramírez Arias (a) “La Bola”, 40 years old, accused of causing the death of another citizen during an incident that occurred in the Capotillo sector, in the National District.

Ramírez Arias (a) “La Bola” was captured through an operation carried out by police agents shortly after the event, which occurred in the same sector. At the time of his arrest, a knife of approximately five inches was seized from him, identified as the murder weapon. Likewise, the Scientific Police collected another larger knife at the scene as part of the evidence.

The victim was identified as Ana María Alberto Pérez, 43 years old, who died while receiving medical attention at the Dr. Francisco Moscoso Puello Hospital, as a result of stab wounds, according to the medical examiner.

According to the preliminary report, the incident originated after a heated discussion between both women, which subsequently led to the assault with a bladed weapon by the detainee.

The detainee was placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor's Office, while the competent authorities continue investigations to fully clarify the circumstances surrounding the case.
