Mirabal Sisters. – The National Police, in coordination with members of the Criminal Investigations Department (DICRIM), is deepening the investigations into the event that occurred on Sunday night in the community of La Cigüa, municipality of Tenares, which claimed the life of Wilton José Santiago, approximately 28 years old.
According to preliminary information, the young man died as a result of injuries caused by a knife in circumstances not yet clarified, which has led to the formation of a specialized team to clarify the exact causes of the event, the motives that originated it and to find the possible responsible parties.
Upon learning of the event, units of the National Police and the DICRIM immediately went to the scene, along with representatives of the Public Ministry, to carry out the site and body investigation, as well as to begin the process of interviews with residents and witnesses of the community. These efforts seek to gather information to reconstruct the events and provide a prompt response to the victim's family and society.
The authorities emphasized that the investigative process includes technical and testimonial analyses, in order to determine if the event was linked to a personal conflict, a criminal act, or any other circumstance that derives legal responsibilities.
