Santo Domingo. - Three tropical waves number 41, 42 and 43 are advancing in the Atlantic, with a trajectory towards the Caribbean region, number 43 has intensified in the last 48 hours as a disturbance and could develop as a tropical depression in the coming days, according to weather expert Jean Suriel.

In that sense, this atmospheric system will move towards the central Atlantic, where it will find favorable conditions to become Storm Jerry later this week.

For the moment, there is no threat to the Dominican Republic: but we will monitor its evolution in the coming days in case it presents changes in its route and intensity.

In the next 24 to 48 hours, showers will increase with wind gusts in a large part of the Dominican territory due to the combination of a trough and tropical wave number 41: the potential for flooding will increase.

For this afternoon, moderate to heavy rains are expected towards the southeast, northeast, north, south, Central Mountain Range and northwest due to the effects of a trough and humid winds: electrical discharges could be recorded at the end of the afternoon.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, rainfall will persist in a large part of the country due to the impact of the tropical wave and the effects of the trough: heavier showers and wind gusts could concentrate in the Cibao.

On Wednesday, rainfall will increase in the Dominican Republic due to the remnants of wave 41 and the proximity of wave 42: in combination with the same trough, the potential for flash floods and significant downpours will increase after midday.
