Santo Domingo. – Deputy Rafael Aníbal Díaz Rodríguez stated that the labor reform project still requires adjustments and a more in-depth analysis before being definitively approved in the Chamber of Deputies, although he acknowledged that the Senate achieved important consensus in its review.

Regarding the legislative debate, the congressman clarified that severance pay is not under discussion, but rather the possible establishment of a complementary unemployment insurance.

"Severance pay is not up for debate; it is a social achievement that President Abinader has reiterated will not be touched. What is being discussed is how to strengthen worker protection through unemployment insurance," Diaz Rodriguez pointed out.

The legislator concluded that the project "will have to undergo some improvements", insisting on the need for a responsible consensus that preserves workers' rights and strengthens business competitiveness.
