More than 150 professionals celebrate the III Ibero-American Congress in Cartagena de Indias

Cartagena. - More than 150 specialists and essential professionals are participating since Thursday in the III Ibero-American Congress to Prevent Burnout, which will be held in the Colombian city of Cartagena de Indias.

Sponsored by the Vacation is a Human Right Foundation (VIAHR), the event will delve into four areas: human leadership and efficiency (workload management, decision-making, and healthy boundaries); work design and policies (flexibility, disconnection, well-being metrics); caregiver care (health, education, care) and technology for well-being (tools to measure, prevent, and support).

With the motto "Leadership and efficiency: More human than ever," it will be a transformative meeting for leaders, health professionals, companies seeking to prevent burnout, and specialists committed to human and organizational well-being.

"We seek to leave three key messages: to recognize that burnout is real and universal, to learn to detect early signs in body, mind and emotions, and to adopt self-care, rest and sustainable leadership tools, with experts, testimonials and networking with professionals from all over Latin America," explained Maria Mendez, president of VIAHR.

The participants come from countries such as the United States, Colombia, Argentina, Mexico, Venezuela, Guatemala, Spain, Italy, Chile, and the Dominican Republic.

Among the speakers who will speak at the Sofitel Barú Calablanca Hotel, in Cartagena de Indias, are Carmen Martínez, mental health advisor for the Pan American Health Organization; Bisila Bokoko; entrepreneur and philanthropist; Mario J. Paredes, businessman and philanthropist; Laura Gámez, founder of the QURE Institute and pioneer of Frequency Medicine and Unified Science; Jacques Giraud, coach and expert in organizational development; Renzo Salazar, philosopher and coach; Yira Vermenton, coach and wellness and health consultant; Francisco Mascayano, researcher at Columbia University; Aldo Civico, coach; and Dr. Ramon Tallaj, founder and president of SOMOS Community Care.

Burnout is a state of emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion caused by excessive and prolonged stress. It occurs when people feel overwhelmed, emotionally drained, and unable to meet constant demands. It also reduces productivity and depletes energy.

Vacation is a Human Right Foundation (VIAHR) aims to raise awareness about the importance of breaks as a means of preventing burnout, through advice, guidance, training and rest experiences for companies and people with this condition. VIAHR is the leading NGO in Latin America on these issues.

The article 24 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights says: “Everyone has the right to rest and leisure, including reasonable limitation of working hours and periodic holidays with pay.”
