SANTIAGO.– An absolute dominance from the mound and a timely hit by Corey Joyce set the tone in the victory of the Águilas Cibaeñas, who shut out the Toros del Este 2-0 and limited them to just one hit, in the game held on Sunday afternoon-night at the Estadio Cibao.

Four Aguiluchos pitchers combined to completely silence the Taurine offense, in a quick game of
2 hours and 36 minutes, in which they accumulated
10 strikeouts and did not allow any liberties.
Imposing Parrish from the start
The imported lefty
Drew Parrish shone as a starter by working
5.0 scoreless innings, in which he faced 18 batters, allowed a single hit, gave two walks and struck out four. He was effectively followed by
Jean Carlos Henríquez (6),
Jonathan Hernández (8) and
Burch Smith (9), the latter being credited with his third save of the season.
The win went to
Parrish (2-1), while the loss fell on the also left-handed
Aaron Leasher (1-1), starter for the Toros, who pitched 4.2 innings of four hits, one run, two walks and three strikeouts.

The Aguiluchos' offensive was led by
Aderlin Rodríguez, who connected three singles, followed by
Corey Joyce, author of the decisive home run.
Leody Taveras added a triple and
Ezequiel Durán a single.
The Bulls' only hit was a
double by Jeimer Candelario in the second inning.

The Eagles broke the ice in the closing of the fifth inning, when
Corey Joyce sent the ball to the left field bleachers for his
first home run of the season.
In the seventh, Joyce once again took center stage by negotiating a walk, and was then driven in by a
triple by Leody Taveras, setting the final score of the game.

With the victory, the Águilas Cibaeñas improve their record to

12-7 on the road, consolidating themselves among the most consistent teams in the tournament.
