United States destroyed a new vessel with drugs in the Eastern Pacific: two traffickers killed

The United States carried out a new precision strike against a vessel loaded with drugs in the Eastern Pacific as part of its military campaign to curb drug trafficking operations in the region. The Southern Command announced that the action, carried out this Monday under the direction of Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, was carried out by the Joint Task Force Southern Spear in international waters. The objective was a vessel identified as being operated by terrorist organizations and dedicated to the illicit transportation of drugs. According to official information, the vessel was traveling along known drug trafficking routes and was detected by US military intelligence. After confirming their involvement in illegal activities, an attack was authorized that resulted in the death of two men identified as narco-terrorists. No casualties or injuries were reported among the members of the US force. The images released by Southern Command show the moment the vessel is hit by the attack, engulfed in flames and subsequently adrift. The United States armed forces have increased their maritime interventions since September, with dozens of attacks on suspicious vessels in the Caribbean and the Pacific, and the destruction of logistical areas used for the dispatch of illegal shipments. President Donald Trump has reiterated that these operations seek to "stop the flow of drugs into the United States and increase pressure on regimes that sustain drug trafficking in the region," in direct reference to Venezuela.

This Monday, Trump himself confirmed the destruction of a “great installation” on the Venezuelan coast from where, according to his words, drug shipments were organized

"Two nights ago we blew it up. So we hit them very hard," the president declared. The U.S. government maintains that Caracas uses the sale of oil and the shipment of drugs to finance illicit activities and support terrorist organizations. Since the intensification of these operations, more than a hundred people have died in at least 29 known attacks against ships suspected of drug trafficking. The US government has defended the legitimacy of its actions, arguing that all operations are based on precise intelligence and that the priority is to neutralize threats before they reach North American territory. In addition to direct attacks, the United States has reinforced surveillance and interdiction of sanctioned oil tankers operating in the Caribbean and the Atlantic, confiscating at least two vessels linked to Venezuelan crude oil trade. The objective is to economically suffocate those who, from Washington's perspective, facilitate drug trafficking and regional instability. Iou The comprehensive pressure strategy, which combines military actions, economic sanctions, and asset confiscation, is aimed at dismantling the criminal networks operating from Latin America towards the United States and Europe. The Southern Command underscored that it will continue to execute operations to guarantee regional security and prevent organizations designated as terrorists from using the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean as safe corridors for their illicit activities.
